Today we officially launched our new solar capacity building network “GSAN”

We are online from now on. 10 months after announcing our new initiative at the 1st SRH Solar Winter School, we today presented our GSAN in Dresden to WIPRO Conference crowd.

The German Solar Academy Network (GSAN) primarily organizes professional education (study programs) and vocational trainings in the „Green Technology“ field in order to foster and support sustainable energy, waste and water use in developing countries and in less- or non-electrified (rural) areas worldwide.

It builds competence centres (establishes partnerships with existing vocational training institutes) and relations to central authority bodies in attractive solar markets.

GSAN takes care of quality management, introduces and maintains common standards in its educational co-operations. It provides key educational concepts (curricula, training skill and methods) and materials on high-level (up-to-date scripts and lecture notes) and serves as a certification and branding agent.

All GSAN activities are characterized by the Industry-Academia approach of the SRH Solar Winter School concept (TiSE/E format). Teachings are practical and strongly business-oriented. Education is target-oriented, pragmatic and maintains the implementation of adequate technology and service quality in co-operation with reputable international solar energy industry and local players.

Get involved in the “SRH Solar Business Trainings Weeks 2016″ of the Winter School Program of SRH Hochschule Berlin: Solar firms interested in participating are welcome to contact the PV-PA

Applications have recently opened for a newly developed intensive training program through SRH Hochschule and PV-Projects Agency. From January 25th to February 7th this program will connect PV-solar company representatives with enthusiastic skilled future employees and partners from attractive international markets. Two training specialisations are provided;

-„SRH-certified Solar Employee

- „SRH-certified Solar Entrepreneur

Strong cooperation with the solar industry in the development and delivery of the training provides a unique benefit to the participants in terms of key transferrable skills and capacities needed to expand their career in the solar industry.

The connection of the established learning methodologies in International Business & Management through SRH Hochschule alongside the extensive practical experience in PV-system business development of the training coordinator Matthias Raab (PV-Projects Agency) ensures a strong practice-oriented focus on the direct development of sales channels and economic results: trained participants can be both immediately integrated into value-adding roles within an organisation or can function as valuable local business partners. Additionally the event in Berlin will encourage exchange within the industry.

Companies are invited to identify target markets requiring additional personnel or to suggest ideal prospective candidates; for example through business partners that would benefit from this training program. In January/February in Berlin, company representatives will have the opportunity to present their expertise and products in real-world practice oriented terms to between 30-40 pre-qualified and strongly motivated future solar specialists.

Please get in touch and state your interest in collaborating with the training program (type of training support or request for specific target markets and sales partner profile requirements), we will then recommend high potential candidates specific to your needs during the application phase and provide you an opportunity to connect in Berlin and discuss potential internship opportunities after the training has been successfully completed.

Subsidies for photovoltaics in Germany

Following the two-step consensus on the reduction of solar subsidies reached by the mediation committee, investors and and businesses now have clarity for their investment decisions.

From the first of July compensations will no longer be lowered to 11-16 % (depending on asset class), as originally planned, but rather only to 8-13% according to new decisions. However they will be lowered a further 3% on the 1st October.

German businesses must prove themselves

A recently published report by the Roland and Berger Consulting Group gives an insight into the domestic industry. According to this report there is not enough space for all businesses in the German photovoltaics industry to survive. Additionally, a lack of market penetration abroad along with growing international competition are the main causes for the curbing of success.
